E. Thomas Dowd, Ph.D., ABPP, is a professor of Clinical Psychology at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. His interests include application of cognitive-behavioral/developmental therapy to a wide variety of psychological disorders with adults. This includes hypnosis and hypnotherapy and its integration into CBT. He has an ongoing investigation into the effect of individual differences in psychological reactance on the therapy process. Currently he is investigating memory processes and tacit knowledge structures (including tacit cultural assumptions) in psychological functioning and malfunctioning.
