Margaret Lee Lyles

Margaret Lee Lyles, known as "Marge" to most, was a busy massage therapist when, in 1992, she discovered she had a malignant tumor. She opted for natural healing without chemotherapy or radiation. Six months after the diagnosis however, Marge contracted hepatitis-A virus, causing the tumor to regain size and forcing her to choose a lumpectomy to spare her life.
In her third year of recovery, her doctor encouraged her to practice the "Reiki" healing method to strengthen her immune system. Today, in her mid-seventies, the author maintains her remission from cancer with a strong enthusiasm for living. She does not claim Reiki cured her cancer but definitely feels it is largely responsible for her current state of wellness.
Life began for this lady in the countryside of Maryland, in North America. Upon completion of her education, wanderlust struck and she joined Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant. She served with the airlines for ten years during which time she met her future husband. The couple settled in Miami, Florida where she was happy as a wife, mother, and community volunteer for many years.
Endeavoring to offset the 'empty nest syndrome' when their daughter traveled north for college, Lyles became a massage therapist in 1987, and a Reiki Master-teacher in 1994. She began by teaching and initiating her church friends in Miami, Florida. Since then, the author has been a guest lecturer of Reiki in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota and North Carolina. For six years she taught at Within Wellness Center, a non-profit healing center in South Miami. Upon invitation she currently shares the benefits of Reiki at Church Retreat Centers, health centers and spas. When expedient she also tutors individually.
Her student base is international with students from Canada, Denmark, Central and South America and Japan. Her book has sold on six continents. It may be found in the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Malaysia, as well as Central, South and North America.
Mrs. Lyles is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP) www.iarp.org and was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) for twenty years.
