Welcome to The International Hypnosis Research Institute Web site. Our intention is to provide quality information to clinicians and the general public concerning hypnosis, hypnotherapy, and other mind/body modalities. We intend to expand our coverage to include such topics as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), energy psychology and medicine, and other related topics. While our intention is to provide quality information derived from valid sources, including peer reviewed literature concerning significant research, this site is not presented as a source of medical or psychological advice. Clinicians wishing to expand their scope of practice or protocols based upon presented information should perform due diligence prior to use. It is our sincere hope to stimulate interest in these topics and to contribute to the evolution of the science of hypnosis. -- Tim Brunson, PhD

The Therapeutic Process

by Charles Wm. Skillas, PhD, DD, BCH, FNGH, CI

Back in 1981 when I first started doing energy healing work, I didn't know much about the mind's effect on health. I did acupressure on blocked energy points and achieved some success in helping people feel better. However, the results didn't last. Then, in 1985, I added Hypnotherapy to my healing work and achieved greater success in alleviating people's problems. Nevertheless, my success still wasn't very good. I did everything I was taught to release the traumas in people's subconscious minds and still their problems persisted or the healing didn't last very long. Then, in 1990, I discovered the effects foreign energy attachment had on hypnotherapeutic healing and this discovery not only helped me personally, but since then, I have great success helping people.

The objective in psychotherapy is to change the person's behavior and response to life (how they feel). Programs in the subconscious mind determine both of these. To reprogram the subconscious mind, it is necessary to first release all the negative forcing functions, which created and reinforce the negative programs. Once these are released, new, positive programs can be imbedded into the subconscious and permanent change happens.

The problem is in reaching the negative forcing functions and accessing the subconscious bio-computer hard drive where the programs are. You cannot release the negative forcing functions or reprogram if you cannot reach the subconscious. Entity attachments seem to form an impenetrable barrier to the subconscious and until the attachments are released, the subconscious cannot be accessed.

Vera, 42 came to see me about life stress. During our discussions, she mentioned pains in her neck and head experienced since young adulthood. She tried conventional medicine and had taken many different pain relievers, but the pain always came back as she developed tolerance to the medicine or stopped taking it. I don't work on mental or physical illness per se, but she wanted me to try and help her, so I checked her out and got strong indications of an entity attachment.

I removed the entity, which was the earthbound spirit of a young man who had died by falling down stairs and broken his neck. He was very sad because his life ended so early. He said he attached to her when she was nineteen during a time of great sadness. After releasing the entity and reprogramming her subconscious so that pain from the released entity was recognized as her pain, I brought her out of hypnosis. The pain was gone and has never returned in two years. She remembered the sadness – it was when her father died. Our psychic defense system is impaired by emotions like sadness, which also attracted the sad entity – the entity brought the pain – when he left he took it with him.
